Hello, I'd like to report the SAD installation on Ubuntu in WSL2. Because the information in "SAD School" is too old, which confused me before.
(1) Install the WSL2 and download the Ubuntu in the Windows shop.
(2) In the Ubuntu, download the K64 version from the Github by "git clone" command.
(3) Enter the SAD directory and just run "make" command. I didn't download any package, and I suppose that the Ubuntu of newest version has enough packages and compilers to compile SAD. During the compilation, there are some warning messages about X11. I don't quite understand reason. But it could be compiled finally....
(4) Run some examples to examine whether it's compiled correctly or not. I need to mention the chromaticity correction results of design_example.sad isn't good for some points, because the matching routine becomes small. I don't know the reason why a wider matching routine isn't selected......Hope someone could give a explanation.....
When I copied my SAD files of old version in the ubuntu, and ran SAD to compare the results of old version. I found that in the parameter of elements, "," couldn't be used. But it's permitted in the old version like "BEND B01= (L=1.0 , K=0.0)".
Besides in WSL2, the IP address isn't localhost, so the display should be set manually in the shell.
